Michel Bettane: Big color, assertive nose—neither very pure nor elegant. Some excessive leather undertones, rich body, firm tannins; massive, even weighty, but a great future. Curiously ancient-style St-Estèphe 15.5

Thierry Desseauve: Good dark color, smoky and toasty nose, strong but rigid body; good potential but wait at least 5 years 15

Michael Schuster: Closed, black-fruit nose; firm, chewy, brisk palate, lacking a point in ripe fruit; austere and St-Estèphe tannic. Will need rich table fare. 2014–18 14
