Michel Bettane: Cedary nose, middleweight body, supple tannins; a hint of greenness and dilution by comparison with others, but with fine and elegant tannins. Classical style 15.5

Thierry Desseauve: Svelte, elegant style; little red fruits, Virginia tobacco, good balance; delicate but not powerful 15.5

Michael Schuster: Ripe fruit and oak-cedar to smell; nicely balanced St-Estèphe, with a firm but not astringent tannin; juicy fruit within a chewy texture; classic St Esèphe proportions and style, with good fruit persistence. Will need time and rich fare to mellow its tannins, but a very satisfying example of its type. 2015–20+ 15.5
