Michel Bettane: Good color; intense plum and blackberry aromas; tight texture, firm and dry tannins, perhaps too simplified by an assertive barrel. (I do not like the heavy Havana-like undertones.) Of course, the wine will age and soften 16.5
Thierry Desseauve: Deep color, red fruits, classic and elegant body; a certain simplicity, but long, tight, interesting 16.5
Michael Schuster: Ripe fruit to smell on the nose, but a long-term, tannic and tough prospect to taste. Will need years in bottle, since this is a fairly sinewy St-Julien, but patience will be rewarded! 2018–30+ 15.5
