Michel Bettane: Excessive (for me) new-oak print, salty and truffle-like, Pomerol-like tannins; lots of character but no finesse. This could change with aging—let’s hope 16
Thierry Desseauve: Good volume and intensity; plum and black fruits; tight structure, with ripe tannins 16.5
Michael Schuster: Still very closed to smell; firmly tannic wine, where you feel that the new-wood texture dominates the available fruit; a delicate, fine fruit flavor masked by the dry wood tannin, leaving the mouth parched. Too bad—the core fruit is clearly fine. I doubt the fruit will ever overcome the wood. 2015–20+? 14.5?
