Michael Schuster: Scented, fragrant nose, a touch of gum-cistus resin to smell alongside the black pepper and dried-fig fruit; beautifully balanced, rich middleweight wine, with a very refined, firm tannin, long, subtle, and complex to taste; tightness, elegance, aromatic scope and power; a lovely sweetness of fruit flavor, great length across the palate; all in all, that typically fine Vargellas combination of restrained fruit and mouth-filling scent; long, graceful, even, complete, and with a gorgeous, scented fruit persistence. Lovely Vargellas. Impressive and accessible already, better in 3–4 years. 2014–30+ (October 2010). 18
