Michael Schuster: Scented, mineral nose, with a gentle blackberry-and-violets fruit, a lovely bouquet in the making; very nicely balanced, mediumweight, with a fine-textured tannin, still a little dry, but a typically lovely balance of refined fruit to mouth-filling scent. Classic, middleweight Vargellas, with lovely, fruity length and the gentle, Margaux-like character of the best of this sometimes rather stretched year. Now to 2016+ (January 2009). 16.5
