BUY THE WINE

Michael Schuster: Pale, mature ruby; fine, light, scented, figgy nose; medium-full wine, nicely balanced, with barely any tannin left; medium-sweet, delicate Port, moderately complex and lightly peppery behind the delicate, mature fruit; still fresh, not drying out, and with very nice length. But clearly more like a fine old Ruby. Will probably keep, in good conditions, for many years yet, becoming frailer, of course. Crisper than the 1970 but with the spirit showing a bit more (July 2007). 16
