Stephen Brook: Deep to very deep red. Lean, oaky, cherry nose, with just a hint of greenness lurking. Rather light, slack-textured, hefty tannins, essentially out of balance, lacking a mid-palate as well as persistence. Fades on finish. Undistinguished and slight at best. 12
Stephen Browett: A deep color. Toasty oak on the nose. A very sexy, polished wine with lots of vanilla and spice. Not too extracted, nice plump fruit. Silky textured and very seductive. Some very high scores from some tasters. 15.5
Michael Schuster: Very dark red; sweetly oaky cedary nose, fine new wood dominated; whatever fine fruit there is at the heart of this, it is completely parched by the new oak tannin; finishes dry and short; impossible to mark, really. Overall “woody.” Classy fruit vitiated. Unlikely ever to be harmonious and enjoyable. 12/13?
