Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Sweet, delicate, oaky nose, has some charm and elegance. Blackberry aromas. Medium-bodied, but reasonably concentrated and quite graceful. There is some freshness and vitality here, and the tannins are well integrated. There’s a light pedal on the extraction, so the wine keeps some liveliness and balance. But still not a wine for cellaring. Enjoy soon for its attractive straightforward fruit. 15.5
Stephen Browett: Medium color. Red fruit and tobacco on the nose. Very Margaux on the palate. Gentle, ripe fruit with good balancing tannins and a nice touch of oak. Quietly classy and understated. This is a well made wine that delivers the goods without showing off. Polished. 15.5
Michael Schuster: Very dark red; minerally, new oak cedar marked nose; elegantly balanced medium full wine, but with a very dry tannin; ripe fruit, mineral aromas and real complexity behind the structure here though; very fine-grained, but very present tannin, long across the palate, and with good, scented aromatic length. A bit of class at last, but severe all the same! Will need plenty of time, but I’m not sure it will be that much better for the wait. The issue, as so often in this vintage, is the tannin. From 2015. 16.5
