Stephen Brook: Very deep red, already showing signs of maturity. Zesty nose, blackcurrant and cherry cordial. Less impressive on the palate, where it sags and shows some sour cherry tones as well, as though some of the fruit was not fully ripe and was blocked by the heat. Stewed finish, and fairly short. 13

Stephen Browett: Deepish color with an invitingly rich, roasted nose. Sweet and succulent, this could be mistaken for a Right Bank wine. Already lovely to drink, this is an attractive, plump wine with a nice touch of oak. 15

Michael Schuster: Dark red; ripely fruity, with a clear touch of herbaceousness to smell; odd combination of ripe and yet “edgy” fruit, a character that lingers on the aftertaste too. An oddly balanced wine, both ripe and unripe fruit, and edgy acidity; a welcome lack of astringency but just not harmonious. Can’t see this ever being really enjoyable. 13.5
