BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Muted nose, black cherries, touch of leather. Soft, flabby, dull, as though the fruit had already died and left little residue other than tannin. Dry finish. I’d have expected a large property such as this to have found some better parcels from which to produce a wine with more personality. 12

Michael Schuster: Dark red; light, cedary nose; medium-full, slightly dry-edged, but quite nicely balanced; straightforward ripe fruit, medium length; finishes a bit pinched by its new wood tannin. But drink soon, unlikely to develop harmoniously. 13
