Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Muted black cherry nose, rather subdued but not baked. Medium-bodied, rather slight, Magdelaine is rarely a big wine but I still expected a bit more weight and structure. Lacks some grip and complexity, and fades on finish. Medium length. 15

Stephen Browett: Medium color, light nose. On the palate this is relatively simple and charming with clean, light red fruits. Lacks density, nice enough but nothing special. 13

Michael Schuster: Dark, narrow-rimmed red; fresh, fragrant, raspberry fruit and limestone mineral nose; very nicely balanced, moderately concentrated middleweight, with a fine, firm tannin; flavory, slightly austere character to taste, firm tannins likely to dominate this in the long term, but with good, light, scented length there too. Good quality. From 2015. 16
