John Gilman: This is now one of the most exciting red-wine producers in Pessac-Léognan. The bouquet on the fine 2010 is ripe but not overripe, jumping from the glass in a compelling melange of dark berries, black cherries, dark chocolate, tobacco smoke, gravelly soil tones, and a judicious base of new oak. On the palate, the wine is deep, full-bodied, ripe, and structured, with very good mid-palate depth, plenty of skin tannins, and very good length and grip on the chewy, well-balanced, soil-driven finish. A lovely example of how good a wine could be produced in this commune with a bit of flexibility and a more traditional approach. 2020–60. 17+
