Michel Bettane: Excellent color, nice cedar-like nose, excellent body for the vintage, excellent selection, intense, perhaps slightly high in alcohol but integrated tannins and aging capacities; well-made Margaux. 16.5

Thierry Desseauve: Toasty and fruity flavors, round and well-balanced body, acceptable (but not outstanding) tannins, good length, good “Merlot Margaux,” soft and tender. 16

Michael Schuster: Almost licoricey from the ripe fruit and new wood; well-balanced, quite rich, quite oaky “new wave” Margaux-style, lightly tannic; sweetly ripe fruit, nice fleshy core, quite complex and long to taste; classy, harmonious, gently gravelly, and with good sweet length. Very nice indeed, if a little oak-dry for my taste. Very good, and accessible relatively early. 2012–25+. 16.5
