Michael Schuster: Rich, sweet, caramel, vanilla, and subtle mineral nose, typically seductive appeal of young Cheval Blanc; fleshy, medium-full wine (the 14% alcohol notwithstanding) with a fine, fairly firm tannin; ripe fruit, fresh acidity, and a long-term, sinewy texture; sweet-cored, tight-knit, spicily complex flavor, very aromatic and with fine fruit and aroma length. Very good, if fairly long-term, slightly austere style for Cheval Blanc. 2020–30+. 18
