BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane: Great color, complex nose, great body; fresh tannins, more grip than Trotanoy, perhaps due to a more important proportion of Cabernet, but the price to pay is less immediate harmony. Trace of new oak to soften with time. A great wine, too, but with a different style. Wait 6–8 years. 18

Thierry Desseauve: Dark color, deep but discreet nose, intensity and depth; powerful structure with powerful but fine tannins. For the long haul: wait at least 10 years. 18

Michael Schuster: Very ripe fruit to smell, with gentle minerality—a fine nose; beautifully balanced rich middleweight Pomerol; finely but firmly tannic and with a firm, fresh acidity as well; a fairly muscular expression of the terroir, with abundant fruit, but tannins dominant at present; long, complex, and complete—and long term! Needs another 8–10 years. 2020–35+. 18
