BUY THE WINE

Michael Schuster: Ripe, new oak-tinged fruit to smell; full, tannic; a very ripe fruit dominated by the warmth of alcohol and the marked dryness of new oak tannin. The alcohol and tannin, for my palate, completely distract from the fruit appeal and drinkability of the wine. No idea how to score this, but it’s not for me. Likely always to be forceful and astringent. Food will mollify, but this doesn’t make sense to me as a table wine. NS
