Andrew Jefford: Pale gold with green glints. Aromatically, this is sappy and vegetal more than fruity, with a faintly peppery pungency to it, too. Lots of celery, cucumber, a hint of fennel, even Thai basil and lemon grass. Interestingly different. On the palate, it is dry, forceful, expressive, and extractive, with plenty of central palate weight and a chewy style. The acidity is relatively subdued, and the alcohol is ample, but both are well incorporated. A Riesling where fruit is interestingly secondary, and other virtues come to the fore—a Riesling, if you like, that gazes toward the Pinot family. It works well, though, and would be excellent with food, and those aromatic complexities are truly remarkable. 17

Andreas Larsson: A pure and pristine nose, with mineral notes, pear, and quince; quite structured on the palate, with plenty of extract, freshness, and elegant fruit; very nice length. A less fruity wine, with more emphasis on structure. 16.5

Stephan Reinhardt: Pale straw-yellow. Nice and fresh Riesling flavors, with citrus aromas and yeasty flavors. Very mineral and firm on the palate; fresh, quite powerful; very good length and balance. Serious and persistent wine, with very good intensity. I would store it for another two or three years, but I fear that one day the alcohol could be too prominent in this wine. 17
