BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford: White shot with gold. Soft, pithy citrus, and wet-stone scents, though gently focused and moderately forthcoming; some free sulfur still apparent. Clean, fresh, pure, precise, and limpid flavors. Not fully dry, but the cleanliness and precision leave the mouth very fresh. Delicate orchard fruits sparkle and glisten in the morning light; there is a little crushed-stone minerality and salinity at the very end. The beautiful disposition of parts much in evidence, and naturally low alcohol, despite the perfect ripeness, adds to the overall sense of delicacy. Gracious and enchanting wine, though aromatically it might be better in a year or two. 16.5

Andreas Larsson: Very pale and brilliant; youthful, still a bit closed on the nose, though some aeration opens it, yielding pure aromas of fresh pineapple, flowers, and a mineral hint. The palate is very light and delicate; there’s a hint of sweetness, well balanced by a crisp acidity. Very pure and long to finish. 14

Stephan Reinhardt: Bright white color. Still a little bit yeasty and reductive on the nose, but very clear, elegant, and subtle Riesling aromas alongside the finest slate scents. Nice fruitiness on the palate, light, pure, piquant, and elegant, medium-dry in style, sappy, finishing with a salty aftertaste. Delicious and refreshing, good length—the right wine to start the day after having an English breakfast. Please, would you be so kind as to serve another glass of it? Thank you. 18
