Andrew Jefford: Full gold in color. Warm, honeyed, generous: It’s not often that Riesling grows melony, but it almost seems to here. A tickle of botrytis to add some interest, but it makes you wonder just how dry the wine will be. On the palate, though, this is dry, broad, appley—but compared to the green apples of Germany, this is now almost tarte tatin. Dry Riesling in its most autumnal mood, with almost a hint of Tokaji to it. I would probably have taken this a year or two earlier, but it would still be very enjoyable sipping. 14.5

Andreas Larsson: The nose is complex, with a fine development. There are some chalky notes, yellow fruit, peach, mirabelle, honey, and fine spices; excellent grip on the palate, really intense and lingering flavors that suggest ripeness and sweetness, but the wine stays dry, with good extract and a brilliant freshness. A really long and complex finish—a very nice example, with perfect drinkability. 18.5

Stephan Reinhardt: Golden color. The nose is overdone: overripe, too oxidized, too yeasty. Isla whisky, bone-dry, iodine; completely out of balance and drying out. Call me arrogant, but I would struggle to drink this as it’s currently showing. 7
