Stephen Brook: Very deep red, almost opaque. Rich oaky blackcurrant nose, has some verve and aromatic lift. Rich, svelte, perhaps a tad soupy in texture, but there is is ample sweet fruit here. Clearly very ripe and a touch hot, and this does lack some acidity and persistence. But there’s ample upfront blackcurrant and blackberry fruit and a sweet finish cut by firm tannins. 16

Stephen Browett: Medium color. Strong, dense nose of cassis and licorice. Real Pauillac character here, with cigar box notes and solid, chunky black fruit. Solid and well built, this is a serious wine with good aging potential for the vintage. 16

Michael Schuster: Dark red; dense, minerally nose; firmly tannic middleweight where the tannic texture is going to dominate the generous ripe fruit for a long time; chewy Pauillac, modest scope, medium length, limited pleasure. Tough prospects. From 2012. 14.5+
