Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Muted blackberry and liquorice nose. Rather slight and soupy for Pauillac, though reasonably concentrated; the fruit is evanescent and doesn’t hold up for long. Low acidity makes for a dull finish. 14

Stephen Browett: Showing quite a bit of fade. Cooked, stewed fruit on the nose. The palate shows the heat of the vintage but there is an overall feeling of cooked, almost tinned, fruit. This is really poor and a disgrace for a classed growth Pauillac. The wooden spoon for Croizet-Bages once again. 12

Michael Schuster: Dark red; unripe fruit here, clear herbaceous edge to the nose; tough, lean, astringent, and brief! Little pleasure! 12
