Stephen Browett: Medium color. Good cassis and eucalyptus nose. This is real Pauillac, though not a blockbuster. Good, thick Cabernet Sauvignon fruit with hints of leather and spice. Strapping yet quite supple. 88

Michael Schuster: Medium-depth red; fresh, pretty, ripe-fruited nose; very nicely made, and nicely balanced; easy, supple, moderately tannic wine; lovely, ripe fruit, pure and gently minerally, a little Pauillac sinew, but no excess, nice length in the mouth at the level, and good fruit length to finish. A very intelligently managed 2003 and a lovely Haut-Batailley. From 2009. 87
