Stephen Browett: Very deep red. Smoky, blackcurrant nose, has an overt fruitiness that overrides a slightly stewed quality. Medium-bodied, supple, juicy, has an immediate appeal if little depth. Marred by rather dense and chocolatey tannins, and there’s not much acidity, but robust and not lacking in fruit. Medium length, baked finish. 14.5

Stephen Brook: Good, deep color. A little rough on the nose but the palate is quite impressive with plenty of cassis. Medium weight and will be ready fairly soon. A decent Pauillac. This Château is no longer an under-performer. 16

Michael Schuster: Dark red; hard, dumb nose; coarsely astringent texture dominates a reasonable fruit, and thus impossible to judge sensibly really, but prospects not promising! 11
