BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Good color, gravy-like nose, lush and quite intense. Promising, but with more rigid tannins than the Latour-à-Pomerol. 16

Michael Schuster: Soft, plummy fruit to smell; full-bodied Pomerol wine with a fine, firm tannin; sweetly ripe, warm, spicy flavor, quite powerful, nice complexity and length across the palate and on the finish. Very good, if perhaps unexciting in the context of Pomerol this vintage. But I’m not sure that the samples we tasted at the Moueix offices were showing the wines at their best… Will need time. 2016–28. 16/16.5+
