Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: An exceptional wine, sure to pass quickly into the hands of collectors, particularly since it was only produced in tiny quantities. This is a wine of monumental density, set somewhat apart from the others, with a sumptuous, liqueur-like richness reminiscent of times past … A wine one can imagine at the court of the czars or the Habsburgs! 18.5
Michael Schuster: Mid-gold; dense lemon and mineral nose; rich and supple-seeming in the vintage, and yet with very good supporting acidity; intensely sweet (though without being the heavyweight it has been in some recent years), quite unctuous in texture, long if slightly “sticky.” On the basis of this sample, very good rather than a great. 16.5/17?
