Stephen Brook: The nose reminds me of those waxy Canadian red apples: not unappealing but slightly artificial. Ripe and suave on the palate, with a juiciness that may be related to a light dose of residual sugar. There’s some heat here, so the alcohol shows. Superficially attractive, but a bit clumsy overall, with a lack of restraint and finesse. Only moderate length. 14.5
Simon Larkin: On the nose, this captures plenty of zesty Cox’s apple fruit. Very lively in style, and there is a slaty quality to the fruit, along with notes of orange blossom, citrus, and apple. A very lively, underscored style—nothing flat here—with fine acidity. A zesty, broad, mineral style, not without gravitas. There is plenty of potential here. 15
Andreas Larsson: Still very youthful and tight, but with most of the attributes required for a great Riesling. Very pure and vibrant, with delicate fruit, a ripe acidity, and a long finish. Will benefit from a few more years in bottle. 15.5
