Stephen Brook: Muted, appley nose. Rich but rather solid; a heavyweight with moderate acidity, powerful fruit, and an earthy mineral tone on the aftertaste. At present, this is fairly inexpressive, but the depth of flavor is impressive, as is the concentration. This has weight without heaviness. A touch more acidity would have been welcome, but this remains an imposing wine with a fairly long life ahead of it. Quite good length. 17.5
Simon Larkin: On the nose, this captures the character most often associated with Alsatian Pinot Gris: scented yellow plum and greengage. The palate follows in a similar vein, relatively loose-knit, with a layered, textural impression and modest acidity. There is no great complexity here, nor tight focus, yet it shows reasonable elegance. Not a style that suggests longevity, but sound. 9
Andreas Larsson: Quite classical aromas of grapefruit and white pepper—nicely built, with a balanced bitterness and generous fruit. Enjoyable and very typical, without any exaggeration. 15
