Michael Schuster: Deep, narrow rimmed, youthful dark red; dense combination of ripe blackcurrant fruit, new oak vanilla and Medoc gravel to smell; well balanced, richly endowed, fresh and muscular but finely tannic Las Cases; a flavour of creamy oak tinged, ripe cassis fruit, rich and ample, fleshy and firm, generous, mouthcoating; very long in the mouth, dense, close knit, complex and refined; rich in a firm, but not aggressive tannin, and also rich in ripe fruit, and with excellent fruit and mineral persistence; impressively complete, firm, long term Las Cases. Will be fascinating to compare with mature 1986, 1996 and 2005. 2020-50
