Michael Schuster: Very dark red, rim just starting to brick; relatively closed nose, but subtle and refined, warm, delicately gravely, quite Merlot in character – touch of caramel sweetness; elegantly balanced, fresh, moderately concentrated middleweight wine with a fine, firm tannin; still very dry in texture; sweetly ripe but also very ‘dry’ in flavour; subtle, minerally and marked by its abundance of aromas rather than a notable ‘fruit core’; long, delicate, complex, slender and refined; but unyielding as yet. More closed on this occasion than when I last tasted it. Seems to need a decade at least. 2020-40+
