Michael Schuster: Very dark red with a narrow bricking rim, a suggestion of early maturity in appearance; but still ‘tight’ on the nose: subtle, scented, red fruit and minerals, but more ‘roasted & open’ as sits in the glass; elegantly balanced, moderately concentrated middleweight wine with a fresh acidity, and fine, firm tannin; fresh ripe red fruit flavours, and marked by an intense, yet delicate gravel scent, gently mouthcoating, long and understated, but as yet its fine, but very present, dry tannin, distracts from the sweeter, more pleasing core flavours; its complexity and length, however, imply a fine, if slightly austere, long term future. Needs ten years minimum. 2020-40+
