Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Blunt nose, black fruits, rather inexpressive now. Has chalky, graphite tones on the nose, but that’s not unattractive. Rich, supple—indeed, rather soft and cushiony—but there is ample concentration and acidity that give it elegance and poise. A touch one-dimensional at present, but the linearity is appealing, and the wine overall is invigorating and long. 17
Andrew Jefford: Light and clear now. Gently curranty, but no aromatic refinement or intricacy. Softly curranty, riding out on a billow of fruit. Once that subsides, beware, but for the time being, this is a well-constructed mouthful that offers a lot of simple pleasure. 14
