Alex Hunt: Dramatic nose of sultanas, dried peaches, and fireworks. A real sense of harmony on the palate knits these seemingly disparate flavors. The wine shows ideal balance of sugar, acid, alcohol, and flavor concentration, resulting in an intense yet refreshing whole - 18
Andrew Jefford: Light russet amber in color. Rich, enticing, leafy, dark: lots of nuts here to accompany the lushly baked orchard fruits. Tangy, vivid, and full, with plenty of old-style generosity of fruit, and a big wave of cleansing acidity, too. This doesn’t quite have the ravishing concentration or finesse of the very best, but it is not far off either. There’s something almost treacly at the very end, yet the acidity saves this from being cloying or glutting. A dark and warming winter Tokaji.16
Mark Savage: Deeper color here and a dried-apricot character on nose and palate. Not quite clean, some of the rot less noble than others, and it is a little crude as a result. But it is not unpleasant in any way—just lacking class. There is concentration, but it has concentrated the bad elements, as well as the good ones. That is what happens - 12.5
