Alex Hunt: This is the most oxidative of the 5 putts wines, with deep amber color and soft aromas of marmalade bread-and-butter pudding. The palate retains incisive Tokaji acidity—but despite this, I cannot help wishing for a bit more energy and definition of flavor - 15
Andrew Jefford: A deep, burnished gold, almost with a coppery hue. Highly attractive aromas of baked apple, apricot, banana, barley sugar, and brittle nut caramel, with a little beeswax: the kind of aromatic repertoire you look for in Tokaji. Controlled, vivid, vibrant, with plenty of fruit-sodden acidity. Perhaps not quite the allusive richness on the palate that the nose suggested, but a satisfying, refreshing 5 putts nonetheless. Very appley at the finish - 14.5
Mark Savage: Much deeper amber here. A sugary richness on the nose is repeated on the palate. There is concentration but no special individuality in the fruit character. It has gone through the motions without finding an X factor and is thus pleasant rather than thrilling. It lacks a real freshness - 14
