BUY THE WINE

Alex Hunt: This wine has peculiar aromas of nuts and dried fruit that recall old Tawny Port. The raisin/sultana flavor carries through to the palate, and there isn’t quite enough of a bridge between this and the powerful acidity. Individual and imposing wine but on the hollow side - 15.5

Andrew Jefford: Deep, burnished gold. A truly lovely aromatic profile: fresh, sweet, and beguiling, with notes of malt and some soft gingery spice, as well as the more customary autumnal fruits. Soft butterscotch and wax, too. Lots of complexity of age in here. Graceful and harmonious. Smooth, long, sweet, fresh, and attractive; pure and almost minty, somehow. This isn’t by any means a monster Tokaji, but everything is deft and harmonious, and there is plenty of aromatic allusiveness - 15

Mark Savage: Shows some maturity in character. Shoe leather here and with some miles on the clock, too! Lots to like about it, though, provided you are not looking for real vitality and freshness. Looks a little old-fashioned by comparison with others - 12.5
