Alex Hunt: Intense, luscious nose of dried peach and honey, leading to a richly dry palate that has just about enough fruit concentration to mask the alcohol. It’s all fairly broad brush strokes but hangs together well for a laterpicked style - 14.5
Andrew Jefford: Full gold in color. Slightly terse, even surly on the nose. A smell of winter fields, with some scattered remnant crops here and there… On the palate, this is forceful, vinous, gently vegetal or herbal. Very sappy, even putty-like wine; very Central European in that; a Hungarian cousin of Sylvaner or GV. I’m sure it would be just right with a steaming pile of some heritage dish or other, but it’s not a great contemporary evangelist for Tokaj soils and varieties - 13
Mark Savage: Deeper color here from extra bottle age, and more complexity developing on nose and palate. Very firm flavor and structure on palate, with good length and definite vinosity from the alcohol, but it remains in balance. Earthy rather than plain fruity and needs food, whereas the previous wine would stand alone happily - 15
