Tim Atkin: Garnet/brick-red color. Some development. Complex wine, but possibly starting to fade a little, with some sweet tomato-paste notes. Very smooth tannins, nice oak integration, sweet, gamey fruit. Drink sooner rather than later? Highish alcohol, possibly a tad overripe? 16

Jesús Barquín: Medium to deep cherry. Concentrated but in a traditional style, meat stew, smoky notes. The palate shows good structure and round tannins. Good typicity. 15.5

Alex Hunt: Very ripe, veering into overripeness. Quite a Porty nose. The palate is unquestionably delicious, however. Excellent balance, generous fruit, not at all dry (which the nose suggested it might be). Though relatively evolved already, this makes wonderful current drinking. 17
