Michael Schuster: Black-red; intense and penetrating, both ripe and minerally to smell; rich, finely and firmly tannic, medium- to full-bodied wine, with a fresh defining acidity. Lovely density of ripe fruit to taste, long and sapid, fresh and vital, with a fine minerally element behind, good length across the palate, a touch of warmth on the finish (you do notice the alcohol a bit here) but not hot or hard; lovely fruit core and excellent length. The ’09 is just a little softer and sweeter; the ’10 more masculine, more concentrated. I have a slight preference for the former. 2018–30. 16/16.5
