John Gilman: The 2010 La Tour du Pin (made by Cheval Blanc) is a very ripe and suave example of the vintage that is bursting with fruit but never strays over the line into overripeness. The nose offers up a lovely and sappy blend of black cherries, a touch of menthol, dark berries, coffee beans, and just a touch of new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, suave, and velvety, with a good core, modest tannins, very good focus, and a long, classy finish. At 14% ABV, this is quite low octane by the standards of the commune in this vintage, and the wine shows off very nice precision as a result. Good juice. 2015–35. 16.5
