Jesús Barquín: Highly saturated color, likely the deepest in the entire tasting. Very fleshy, with a note of gamey blood; intense, with a well-structured palate and incredible tannin power. The finish is slightly marred by a subtle whiff of mercaptan, as in rotting onion. Not a perfect bottle but surely still a great wine. 17.5

Simon Field: Amazing unabashed color; black-fruit nose with minty, peaty notes; palate is very clean and finely balanced, with smoky, elegant notes entwined with filigree elegance and a soft yet persuasive finish. 17

Jancis Robinson: Incredibly dark crimson. Sweet start and very skinny and concentrated and focused. Monolith. One of the youngest bottles of this wine I have tasted. A very youthful tincture. Not broad or sweet or flattering! Quite extraordinarily youthful, not to say tart. Drink 2015–40. 17
