Tim Atkin: Dense, youthful color. Richly aromatic; possibly some Cabernet Sauvignon here. A very serious, even profound nose, with lots of smart oak but also a lot of fruit to back it up. Slightly too much oak on the palate at the moment, with a hint of coffee bean, but this should soften in time. Silky, refined tannins, lovely length and complexity. Delicious, complex, ageworthy wine. 5–10 years. 18.5
Jesús Barquín: Very deep cherry. Modern, extracted, very ripe, without excess; paprika notes, black berries, obvious toasty notes. Excessive for my taste but a quality wine in its own right. 14.5
Alex Hunt: Sappy berry-fruit aromas—a little too sappy, perhaps. A resinous quality that comes across as slightly green and aggressive. Quite a concentrated palate but monolithic and on the heavy side, with a caramelly oak finish. This wine, at this stage, is lacking purity and line. 12
