Tim Atkin: Some development here. Reduction and tannin; quite Porty again. Very ripe, jammy, tannic, dry finish. Foursquare, quite dry. Rich, ripe, bags of fruit, slightly dry finish. Lacks fruit. Good grapes wasted. 11

Jesús Barquín: A wine with a classic note, in spite of its deep color, almost opaque. Oak notes prevail, but there is a feeling of harmonious structure and a powerful and balanced fruit load that will absorb and integrate this oak with time. I am rating as it is now but biased by my trust in its positive evolution. 15

Alex Hunt: This smells more like espresso than wine. And the palate is suffused with wood tannin. This is heavy going—by six years old, it should surely be showing signs of fluidity. Fruit and alcohol are actually in nice equilibrium; it’s the wood that’s the problem. 12
