BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Deep, dense color for 2006. Tarry, slightly reduced nose. Very extracted, super-tannic and dry. Chunky, lacks finesse; high alcohol, Porty style. Tannic and dry and extracted. Barely recognizable as Ribera. 9

Jesús Barquín: Very deep cherry. Somewhat reduced nose, with a background of coal. Overripe, excessive, mouth-puckering, uninviting. 11

Alex Hunt: Fruit aromas a bit raisiny and tired here. The palate, too, lacks life and lift. Rather dry tannins; evolved already. 12
