BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Very mature color. Some oxidation on the nose here. Some Cab Sauvignon? Palate rather dry and tannic, with marked oxidation. Soupy, savory, dried out; oxidation on the palate. Bad bottle, tannic, dried out. 12

Jesús Barquín: This bottle is not right: oxidized, cooked, with a nose that reeks of tomato and garlic soup. It shows a good layer of fruit underneath, though, but it is clearly flawed. A pity. NS

Alex Hunt: This is markedly oxidized, in a piquant, tomato-soup way. Unfortunately, and frustratingly, only one bottle provided, so the less-than-perfect cork has doomed the judgment of the wine here. The structure, one can still see, is grandiose, with great detail and balance. The flavors have gone to pot. The score is a relatively meaningless hybrid. 12
