Stephen Brook: Medium gold. Burnished nose, a touch of marmalade, not raisiny but close; but it also has lift and precision. Sleek attack, velvety, very concentrated but also very pure, with fine acidity and less evolved characters than the nose. This has discretion and elegance and impeccable balance, with oak and stone fruits well integrated. Not a flashy style, but it’s moreish and long, with a citric tang on the finish. 18.5
Margaret Rand: Concentrated, with a slight note of burned plastic on the nose. Mercifully, this is only minimal. It’s very lush and rich, quite oaky, with a very long finish. The lushness overwhelms the elegance, and there’s some slightly hot alcohol on the finish. This could become cloying faster than some. 14.5
Michael Schuster: Mid-gold; fine early bouquet of gentle honey and mineral citrus zest; elegantly balanced, fresh, concentrated middleweight. Intensely sweet, long, graceful, complex, and subtle wine; long to taste, long to finish. Complete, fine, lovely Sauternes in early maturity; great scope, lovely harmony—still a wonderful freshness. Now to 2030+. 19
