BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Light gold. Lush stone-fruits nose, quite developed for 2007. Heady botrytis but also a good dose of sulfur that will need time to blow off. Very rich and creamy but with assertive acidity, which is needed to balance the ripeness and opulence. This has surprising elegance, but it lacks some complexity, nuance, and vigor on the finish. Delicious but decidedly forward. 17

Margaret Rand: Lovely orange-peel nose, marzipan, very fine. Palate high-toned, nice acidity, fine, and elegant, with a nice bitter twist and good backbone. Finish fine and sleek. A lovely wine—elegant. 16.5

Michael Schuster: Mature orange-gold; honeyed nose, touch of VA; intensely sweet, rich, supple wine—fleshy, moderately complex, good light length. Easy, open, straightforward, faintly raisiny flavor; quite advanced for its age. Now to 2015+. 16.5
