Andrew Jefford: Medium depth of yellow-gold. Lots of hazel and macadamia nut on the aromatic profile, over some richly lemony fruit: satisfying and enticing. Vivid and rich, with real ripeness and flavor development here. This has true palate width and some textural interest, too; those hazel notes that charm so on the aromas are sustained all the way into the palate. The fruit mingles lemon with nectarine; maybe a little passion fruit, too. It’s Australian, of its place, expressive, lingering, vinous, developed, aromatic to the end. The acidity is a little bit assertive as tasted, but probably not in the mealtime context. Lovely layers—beautifully decked and rigged. I applaud the natural alcoholic warmth here. Excellent wine. 17
Jancis Robinson: Green fruits on the nose. Rather low acidity. Quite evolved. Workmanlike rather than thrilling. A solid core here but no frills. Drink 2011–13. 15.5
Anthony Rose: Pale lemon in color, this is a little indistinct on the nose; it’s more appealing on the palate, with some rich buttered-popcorn notes, pretty good concentration, and honeyed opulence balanced by cleansing acidity. A well-made Chardonnay that’s very drinkable without actually singing. 15.5
