BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Mid-purple/ruby. Warm, spicy nose, with a hint of VA. Just a tad overoaked on the nose and palate. A shame, because the underlying fruit is impressive: sweet, ripe but not overripe, with sweet plums and wild strawberries 15

Nicolas Belfrage: Deep, quasi-opaque; still quite youthful. Fine herb-and-dried-fruit aromas. Good depth of blackberry and dark cherry fruit is offset by zingy acidity and adequate tannins. Has length, personality, and drinkability 16

Bruno Besa: Black core to garnet rim. Open, mature, complex, clean nose with mature prunes and black cherries and hints of cinnamon and cloves. Full-bodied palate, with sweet, clean fruit and complex long finish. A extremely good wine, with balance and finesse 18
