Tim Atkin: Mid-purple, some development. Quite a developed style, with some oxidative notes and pruniness on the palate. Good structure, but the tannins are drying out the fruit a little. Big, powerful, pruney, spicy, dense wine. Lots of layers 16
Nicolas Belfrage: Interesting follow-on to [Luigi Tecce Poliphemo Aglianico Taurasi 2007]. It has all the tannin but is a little lacking in acidity, so it finishes a little flabby despite the polyphenols. Modern style, misses the point. Dark cherry fruit but lacking in balance; practically a dry vintage Port 14
Bruno Besa: Deep, dark core to thin garnet rim. Developed nose of prune juice, clean and spicy full body, with sweet fruit and a long mature finish. A very big wine, maybe a touch too mature 16.5
