BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Rich red/purple, showing some development. Curry-paste-and-cinnamon nose. Quite firm and challenging on the palate but backed up by fruit. Nice savory, medium-bodied style; fresh acidity. High in alcohol, but the sweet plum and fig fruit carried it 16

Nicolas Belfrage: Impressive depth of color. Damson and fruit-salad aromas. Fat, juicy palate, with slightly low acid and firm tannins that are relegated to background by rich juicy fruit. But they hold the flavor, which, however, at the end is not complex, if characteristic 14

Bruno Besa: Black core to saturated garnet rim. Complex, mature, clean nose, with mature prunes, figs, and hints of cedarwood and spices. Full body, with huge tannins well supported by the massive black-fruit character, long and clean on the finish. A very big, mature wine of considerable extraction and complexity—maybe missing a bit of finesse 17
